As shown on Figure 1, WiMAX sites have two options for connecting to GENI:

The site needs connectivity to one of the [http://www.internet2.edu/ion/ I2 ION points-of-presence] or [http://www.nlr.net/services-map.php NLR points-of-presence].
 2. '''L2TP connection through Rutgers''': is overlay based solution for sites that don't have ION connectivity. It is based on [wiki:Connectivity/L2TP Linux based L2TP tunnel] over commodity Internet to externally visible endpoint at Rutgers/ORBIT site and, through it, to the [http://groups.geni.net/geni/wiki/ConnectivityHome GENI I2 backbone].
